Discover the job
What problem are we actually solving, and for whom?
Every product exists to help someone make progress. Not the organization commissioning it — the person who will use it. We start by uncovering the real job — the underlying struggle that creates demand for a solution. Not “we need a new website” but “our users can’t complete critical tasks without calling a help desk.”
Activities
- Stakeholder interviews focused on struggles and workarounds
- End-user research on the actual job being done
- Assumption mapping and risk identification
- Competitive and context analysis
- Problem framing to a single clear statement
Deliverable
Clarity Brief — the job to be done, who hires the solution, what progress looks like, key assumptions and risks, and explicit boundaries of what this project is not.
Decision gate
Nothing moves forward until the client and Ghost Savvy align on the Clarity Brief. If the job is wrong, everything downstream is waste.
